OUCCC Development Fund One of the primary purposes of the club is to assist the current OUCCC generation financially. When the Old Members were originally set up in 1998, an OUCCC Development Fund was established by Matt Bryant (OUCCC Captain 1996-97). At the time, the club was facing the loss of its sponsor and thus a relatively substantial decrease in its annual income. The purpose of the development fund was to generate a reserve for the club that would insure against incidents like this in the future and to provide a capital fund for one-off schemes. Since 1998, the University authorities have also made it clear that they wish to see all clubs being funded to a greater extent by their alumni. Therefore, the role of the development fund is increasingly important to OUCCC. It is sustained by contributions from old members, some of whom make one-off contributions and others who make regular monthly donations of as little as £2. Every penny donated goes into the development fund and, subsequently, on to OUCCC. Projects that are funded are agreed between the OUCCC and Old Members' Committees. None of the money is spent on the administration of the old members. Projects December 2010 - New OUCCC banner for the club June 2006 – Roger Bannister Athletics Track refurbishment In June 2006, the Old Members were delighted to be able to make their first substantial donation – of £4,000 (which with Gift Aid relief was, in effect, nearly £5,000) – which went towards the refurbishment of the Iffley Road track. As all old members of OUCCC will recall, the track is one of the vital facilities for training and its refurbishment will provide a welcome boost to the club. Jon Roycroft, the Director of Sport at Oxford, contacted the club in September to say: “The track has been finished, apart from certification … and looks splendid. … Please pass on my thanks for their generous donation which enabled the project to start on time.” Donating to the OUCCC Development Fund You can make a donation to the club in two ways: 1.
