The
OUCCC Old Members' competitive activities revolve around two events:
the Old Blues' race in December and the Teddy Hall Relays in March. Old Blues' Race The race was first run in 1990 as part of the centenary celebrations of the Inter-'Varsity Cross-Country Race. It is now held every year on the day of the Gentlemen's and Ladies' Blues races at Roehampton (at 1.00 p.m.). The course is the same as that for the Ladies' Blues race and is four miles long and includes the famous Beverley Brook watersplash. All ex-Oxford cross-country runners - Blues and non-Blues - are very welcome to run in the race and stay on afterwards to support the Dark Blue students in their contests. Oxford currently lead the series 10-8. The results for all the races can be found here. Teddy Hall Relays The origins of the Teddy Hall Relays are somewhat obscure; however, it is known to have been around in one form or another since the 1950s. A history of the event can be found here. The event is organised by OUCCC and consists of a relay of three legs (ladies) and four legs (men) over a 3.6-mile course that starts an finishes at the Roger Bannister Track at Iffley Road. The OUCCC Old Members always take a number of teams to the event and join OUCCC for its annual dinner in the evening. Results from previous years: 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 |
