The Oxford University Cross-Country
Club Old Members – more commonly known as the Old
Gits – was originally founded in February 1998 as a means for
former Oxford University cross-country runners to keep in touch with
each other and the current student generation after going down. Following six years of relative inactivity, it was re-founded at the 2004 'Varsity Races. The aims of the club are as follows: 1. To support
in the current generation of OUCCC members in any way possible and, by
so doing, contribute to the continued strength and success of the club
2.
To ensure
as many old members of OUCCC come along to and hopefully compete in the
‘Varsity Match Old
Blue's Race and the Teddy Hall
Relays. Also to organise a social occasion during the evening to
coincide with these events
3.
To produce a
twice-yearly newsletter with reports of OUCCC's results and
details of forthcoming events
4.
To fundraise for large capital projects to benefit the current members of OUCCC
5.
To maintain a database of OUCCC alumni
6.
To set up and maintain OUCCC Old Members' website
